PROGRAM OF PUBLISHING POSTAL STAMPS IN 2012 - POSTE SRPSKE AD

200 years from the birth of Franc Liszt- on 22.Oct.2011
Dear Philatelic friend,

POSTE SRPSKE AD issued stamp this year:

200 years from the birth of Franc Liszt- on 22.Oct.2011. There is 1 stamp is set. Face value is 1,50 KM (0,77€).
Franz Liszt (October 22, 1811 Raiding, Austria – 31st July 1886 Bayreuth, Germany), Hungarian pianist, greatest pianists of his time. In his other works are evident influences of various European traditions. Originally Hungarian and brought up in the tradition of French culture, because he spent youth in Paris, playing in the aristocratic salons of Paris. It was a time when Chopin also lived in this city. Liszt gave concerts throughout Europe and met all the leading musicians of his time. After the 1848 List is in the service of the Weimar court, and then he has a strong influence by German musicians, particularly Richard Wagner, who was his true friend. List as a conductor was one of the main propagators of Wagner`s art and one of the most successful interpreter of his ideas. In the end of his life he ordained and spent much of his time in Italy.
List`s piano activity was very important. The art of playing the piano he raised to the level that is achieved by Paganini on the violin. List first introduced the practice of solo concert - as he himself jokingly called "musical monologues". Until then, it was customary to perform at the concerts more performers. At his concert in Rome in the 1839 List stops this practice. He, like other pianists of his time at the concerts had a habit of improvising (from the practice has developed a form of paraphrase) the form of variations based on popular themes of various opera and symphonic works, and folk songs.
He also worked on the piano transcriptions of symphonic, opera, chamber works of many composers, and so he approached to the audience. However, much greater importance is his original creations: the cycles of miniatures (In particular pilgrimage, published in three volumes of pieces that were created over a lifetime), etudes (a collection of etudes transcendental), the Hungarian Rhapsodies, and many other compositions. A special place among these works belongs to h-minor Sonata. Piano sonata in the works of various romantic experiences a similar fate as Symphony: Composers create ever smaller number of works that are called sonatas.
Author of the stamp: Miodrag Nikolic. Graphic realization: Bozidar Dosenovic and Nebojsa Djumic.

200 years from the birth of Franc Liszt- on 22.Oct.2011

150 years from the birth of Fridtjof Nansen
Dear Philatelic friend,

POSTE SRPSKE AD issued special stamp this year:

150 years from the birth of Fridtjof Nansen- on 10.Oct.2011. There is 1 stamp is set. Face value is 1,50 KM (0,76€).

Norwegian Fridtjof Nansen (Oslo, October 10, 1861 – Lysaker, May 13, 1930) was one of the world’s most famous polar explorer, politician and diplomat. He was the first who explored the Greenland inland on dog-sledges in 1882 and 1886, and from the 1893 till 1896 he explored the North Sea. He gained the worldwide fame with his expeditions across Greenland and on the ship Fram across Arctic Ocean he reached at the northernmost point of the Arctic.
In 1918 Nansen became the president of Norwegian delegation to the League of Nations in Geneva. The big problem with which he met was the desperate state of war prisoners in Siberia where thousands of them died from cold and hunger. In order to avoid an even greater tragedy, the prisoners had to be acquitted before winter 1920 – 1921. What followed was one of the greatest disasters in the human history – the hunger that was raged through Europe in 1921 and which took more than 30 million human lives. Nansen has launched a humanitarian program against hunger which gradually spread to all groups and individuals regardless of nationality in Europe.
The Council of the League of Nations founded the High Commission for Refugees in 1921 headed by Nansen. For stateless persons which were entrusted to him, Nansen issued the passport, identification document which was eventually recognized by 52 governments in the world. In the nine year of the office, Nansen took care of thousands of refugees using methods that will become a classic: custody, repatriation, rehabilitation, immigration, integration. In recognition for his work with refugees and people affected with hunger Nansen received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1922. The League of Nations opened Nansen International Office for Refugees in 1931 that is awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1938 for its humanitarian work around the world.

Thanks to the works of this Nobel Prize winner, have been launched the Nansen Dialogue Centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which promote dialogue between different groups, ethnic, national, religious, political and interest to resolve the conflict peacefully and peace building. All of this was the reason for the joint release of the three postal operators in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
